KIPPS MARKET AND MALHAR ROAD PROBLEMS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY: ADV. BIKRAM SIDHU
Ludhiana : (p9 beauro) :

Taking the concerned authorities and Punjab Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu head on, BJP state executive committee member Advocate Bikram Singh Sidhu said that something fishy sounds in the disbursement of funds worth crores in the name of developing Malhar Road and Kipps market under Smart City Project.
Advocate Sidhu while addressing a press conference today stated that an amount of 38 crore, 63 lac have been spent on the development of the above areas. But in reality the actual Blueprint of the market map that comprised of a multi-storey parking has been ignored completely, instead the money has been wasted on tiles and a fountain which was not needed. He called upon the concerned authorities to investigate into the matter and initiate action.
Similarly, the Malhar road which is being redesigned with an amount worth Rs 24 crore has been reduced from 150 sq ft to 40-50 sq ft in width. Bring the main road that joins pakhowal road with Ferozepur road there is a lot of traffic on this road. Owing to the present scenario, the traffic congestion has increased manifold thus adding to the number of accidents.
The haphazard parking on the side of this road has further added to the problems of the area residents and the shopkeepers.
There is no proper storm sewer that inundates the road during rains making it a nightmare for the commuters.
Advocate Sidhu demanded that the road should be widened and the table top jumps should be removed which are nothing but an obstruction for the traffic. Also, the problem of traffic jams should be addressed at the earliest.
The press conference was attended by Harkesh Mittal, Sanjeev Puri, Rakesh Jaggi, yuva Neta Jatin Sharma and various other members, office bearers of the Bhartiya Janta Party.
